The traditional mechanical Teleflex Safe-T QC steering system is a rugged, compact and lightweight 3.0 turn system that takes the work out of steering almost any boat.
Designed for use on power-assisted outboard and stern drive boats with wheels up to 16” diameter. The Safe-T QC replaces all Teleflex Safe-T helms made since 1968.
The Teleflex Safe-T QC system offers ease of installation with patented, no-tools-required Teleflex QC (Quick Connect) cable connections.
The Teleflex Safe-T QC steering system is supplied as a compete kit with helm unit, dashboard bezel, steering cable and fixings.
Cable Length Selection:
For the correct cable selection please measure the following distances for the cable routeing in meters.
A) From the centerline of the steering wheel out to the boats gunwale. B) From this point on the gunwale directly aft to the transom. C) From the gunwale at the transom to the centerline of the cable connection on the outboard. (with the outboard positioned to drive straight ahead)
If you are installing the steering cable to an outboard with electric or manual tilt that has a standard tilt tube mounting connector, add up measurements A, B and C, then add 15cm and then round UP to the nearest quarter of a meter. (ie. 4m, 4.25m, 4.5m, 4.75m etc)
You then need to order the steering kit with this cable length.
