Introduced in 1997 as a new concept in charting for leisure, they have since grown rapidly in terms of coverage and popularity. Designed by yachtsmen for yachtsmen, Leisure Folios consist of 10 or more A2 sized charts, printed on heavyweight chart paper and packaged in a plastic wallet. Each folio chart is compiled using the same exacting standards and highly reliable data as that used to produce standard Admiralty paper charts and publications. Leisure Folios have been designed to fit on a small craft chart table where space is at a premium, removing the need for folding. Users can plot directly onto the waterproof wallet with a chinagraph pencil or pen. Each folio chart includes three handy plotter reference points, making it simple to use a plotter such as Yeoman with fine graticule on each chart to make it easier to plot a course in a bumpy cockpit. Coastal areas, slipways and racing marks are all clearly marked, in addition to harbours, Marinas and pubs - perfect for the leisure cruiser. Each folio contains information on Tides, Radio Services and Symbols & Abbreviations on the reverse of specific charts. In addition, each folio includes a copy of the IMO table of Life Saving Signals. Carriage of these charts satisfies MCA Regulation V/29 relating to leisure craft.
